Delaware County is reporting two new cases new cases of COVID-19.

As of today there are 67 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 reported to Delaware County. There are an additional 45 people under mandatory quarantine and 1 person under precautionary quarantine. To date 625 people have been tested. Of those 533 results are negative and we are still waiting for results from 23 tests. Ten (10) confirmed cases have been transferred out of the county. Of the 57 confirmed positive cases still in Delaware County 2 are isolated and receiving medical care in a hospital, 17 are isolated and recovering safely at their homes, 4 people are deceased and 34 have fully recovered and are no longer in isolation.

It is important to note confirmed cases does not mean the total number of potential cases in the County.

Access to testing remains extremely limited, the number of confirmed cases does not reflect the current spread of COVID-19.

It is important we continue to stay home, keep 6 feet apart when we have to go out and continue to be extra vigilant in sanitizing our homes, keep washing your hands and avoid touching your face. We are continuing to stress the importance of social distancing measures to protect the general public.

Delaware County has been provided with cloth face coverings to be given to the Towns and Villages for public distribution.

Each town will receive several hundred of these face coverings to be given to residents over the next several days.

Please check the Delaware County Facebook page or website to get further details on locations for distribution in your community.

Given the anxiety, loneliness and sadness that many of us may be feeling, New York State has made assistance available to all New York residents who could benefit from mental health support.

The NYS COVID-19 Emotional Support Helpline at 844-863-9314 is staffed 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., 7 days a week. The phone line is staffed with specially trained volunteer professionals who are there to listen, support and refer if needed.
